STATEMENT


Frost is a series of earrings created from sterling silver and vitreous enamel, etched with an X—a recurring symbol of sexuality, restriction, and connection. The intersecting lines represent tension and balance, reflecting themes of desire, limitation, and unity.

This work is inspired by a nostalgia for the places I have lived lived and the anticipation of transformation brought on by change.  The enamel surfaces evoke transience and fragility, contrasted with the silver’s lasting resilience and constancy. These pieces represent a dialogue between the ephemeral and the enduring, mirroring the emotional impact of place and memory.

With these earrings, I explore how physical environments shape identity and relationships, merging personal history with symbols, shapes, and color. The X becomes a marker of both boundaries and connections, suggesting the ways we navigate longing, change, and the constraints of our surroundings.
