STATEMENT




Present is a body of work about the impact of hanging onto toxic relationships. I created six necklaces out of lead based on jewelry that I have been given. These gifts were often emotional appendages meant for someone else as a way to provoke anger and hurt.  I held onto this jewelry because I was under the impression that their intrinsic value was more important than what they symbolized. This body of work represents how jewelry is used as a coping mechanism to perserve the past.
